| Nice catch report! That is especially difficult to land that many Kaku on a 1/4 oz. They usually cut. What kine rig do you use including the gear , line, etc. to share with the rest of this community? | |

| thanks. i was actually surprised how i caught it with the gear i used. I had a shimano stradic 2500 fg with 4 lb test. I had a split ring connected to the lure so it gave a small space from the hook and the line. I had a hard time fighting the omilu cause i had to keep the drag lose and i was using a short 5'5" fast pole and 4lb Test!! the lures are the only thing i use to go fishing with now... is the oama one out yet?? | |

the lures are the only thing i use to go fishing with now... is the oama one out yet?? That's why I like the Macmahon snap swivel. About an 1 and a half before leader. A little more chance that way, but you will get less hook ups. Thanks for you using my lures! Oama's are in the kiln firing as I type. Will be on store shelves soon. m | |

| Nice catch there, they put up a pretty good fight eh?.. .. I never knew they are good for eat... My fishing partner caught a 8 pounder a while back and no body wanted to eat um, (need cig check for sure)..But he took um home clean um up and made sashimi and ate um all in a couple days, plus neva get sick so he was happy...I lived Kaneohe side for many many years before moving back Maui 3 years ago...MCBH great place for shoreline spinning if you can get on base. | |
