lost my first mw lure

I went whipping yesterday to test out a new reel and on the first cast lost my favorite MW lure. I cast out and it almost looked like it got stuck in some netting or something stuck to the reef a foot below the water. I pulled out another MW out of my lure box and rigged it up but didnt whip too long cause i was so bummed out. It was my very first MW.
