| Hopefully there's "no stupid questions" here...lol, but I got 1. Why braid when one could just use a thicker test? Wouldn't the single thicker test be thinner/lighter than the braid? mahalos for your time \m/ | |

Braid is thinner and allows more line on the reel. Plus it's lighter giving a farther cast. Bad: you get tangles and knots when windy. I don't know about the rest of the community, but I do. IMO: go with braid. | |
