So i've been using mw lures everytime i went fishing. i havent really caught anything besides a lizard fish and a po'opa'a. i was wondering if i was doing anything wrong, or there arent any more fish on oahu. i had a couple chasers at what it looked like a papio and a kaku but no actual hanapaa. i've tried many different ways of retrieval from trying to keep it at the surface and reeling it in fast to try and create that air bubble trail, to even adding a jerk to it. any tips?

Mahalos for buying my lures. Tips that I tell everyone who uses lures in general is go early to areas that are more wild less humans in the water. Oahu has tons of Papio/Ulua and all other game fish. I get pictures almost every week from Oahu whippers. If you go to my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/whiteykauai?feature=mhee I have over 100 vids showing lure action and strikes etc. Remember to speed up when getting a follow or chase. Practice patterns to keep lure lively if you run out of water, ie figure 8, back and forth etc. Make each cast and retrieve like a brush stroke on a watery canvas. Also try to mimic bait fish getting chased. Aloha, m
below from last week on Oahu

how do you set up your pole for your lures? just tie it straight to the lure or use some kidn of swivel? also, do you use a leader line?

Also, these lures are a fast retrieve kine yeah? so like i would cast it out and just reel in as fast as i can right?

go to https://mwlures.forumotion.com/t58-my-gear-picks There is a lot of info on this link. If you study the vids you can see that it's not necessary to reel as fast as you can. You don't want to tire yourself out. That would be no fun. Find a comfortable retrieve speed and do little pops and jigs with the rod tip to increase the action. Good luck!

So I have a Penn fierce 4000 with 15# braided and only a 10# leader. I use 1 and 1/2 oz. lures. So it would be reccomended to get a stronger mainline and, leader?
