| Hey, Nice fish! And really cool boat. I have dreamt of a sea kayak for a long time, but there is just too many crocs down here for it to be safe... So I just fish from the shore, and it is not that bad. Except that today I did not catch anything, and that the tunas were busting of just out of casting distance all morning long... Very frustrating and very exciting at the same time, quite beautiful in fact, with the birds above diving on the bait and the big fish slashing the water in all direction. Have a good day, Pecheur | |

1/2 oz. rig 10' Hawaiian Gold and a Shimano Stellafb 2500 loaded it with 20-30lb PowerPro and about 3' of 30# Seaguar Fluorocarbon leader tied Uni-Uni. Double the braid side. Then use a Macmahon snapswivel from Cabelas for good action and easy changing of lures. My all day whipping rig.

Have a good day, Pecheur That's indeed a concern. Do you ever encounter them along the shore? Do other fisherman take the risk? Aloha, Mark

Aloha, Mark Hi Mark, Yes sometimes you are knees deep in the water and you see one swim past, then you get out of the water as fast as you can. Personally I am a bit paranoiac about them and never get my feet in the water in a river. Sometimes I do on the sea shores, but even then I do not feel comfortable. I have seen them in salt water a few times, and every time it is a reminder of how carful we have to be. Yet some of my friends don't seem to mind and get in the water any where... You are almost guaranty to see one when you go fishing on some of the local river or estuary in a small boat. In some billabong (little lake) you are sure to see a lot of them every time you go. It is actually a quite fascinating animal, very fast, can grow pretty big. If you want to have a quick look at what kind of animals it is follow the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltwater_CrocodileHave a good day, Pecheur

Have a good day, Pecheur That's a beast! He has no neck. Do they/you eat Croc meat? Looks like a lot of food there. I think if I were you I'd be carrying while I fished.

| Yes that is a big one, they don't come that big very often... It might be a record in fact... I do eat croc meat once in a while, usually when I have guest from down south or overseas. It is ok, but honestly not the best meat in the world. I still prefer my fish. And yes this is just another reminder of the need to be carful when fishing alone. Have a good day, Pecheur | |
