Christmas Island

Just got back from a trip to Christmas Island. Fishing was good, both the bars and original shapes were working down there. Didn't get any really big ones, but did get a bunch of fish. Here's a few of the fish caught on the trip.










This one inhaled the 1.5 oz bar. Luckily I switched to all barbless hooks for the trip.

Nice action! This is my dream trip. I'll get there one day.

what kind setup u use

I have two setups for plugging, a lighter one and a heavier one.
Lighter setup - 9' Shimano Tiralejo rod, Shimano Stella SW 10000, 65 pound Tuf Line XP with FG knot to 80 pound mono rub line to 130 pound fluorocarbon bite leader, Centro stainless steel swivel, Owner split ring.
Heavier setup - 8' Ripple Fisher Infinity pe8 rod, Shimano Stella SW 10000 with 16000 Jigging Master spool, 100 pound Tuf Line XP with FG knot to 130 rub line and 250 bite leader, Centro swivel and Owner split ring.

For light whipping I use a 9' Fenwick HMX rod, Shimano Stradic FJ 4000, 20 pound Tuf Line or 10 pound mono.
