Braid Question

Sorry for asking such a newbie question.....

When you say Power Pro to bimini to braid then to fluoro carbon:

What exactly is the braid, how do you make it, and how long does it have to be.

Ultimately, what is the purpose? Is is to transition the lines due to thickness or strength?

Next time your in your favorite tackle store ask where the braid is and ck it out. It is much thinner but also less abrasion resistent. Below is how I sometimes connect leader to braid. Also do some research online regarding knots and leader to braid connections. Good luck. m
